About Patrick

A little information about me, at least, a little bit that I choose to share because you guys are f’ing weird on the Internets these days and oversharing is not so good anymore.

First and foremost, I am a veteran and I am honored to have served with some great men and women for the 7+ years I spent with Uncle Sam. Most of my military time was in Japan - Okinawa specifically - and I would absolutely spend an eternity there if the right job came along in that depressed, oppressed, 20-years-ago trendy place with some of the best, friendliest people that you have never met. I am not a history fan, but there is a lot of emotional up and down visiting some of the war memorials that are there and seeing what life in 1944-1945 was like for those people and for the foreigners who drove the Japanese to their surrender. Honestly, there is more culture in 5 square miles of Okinawa than there is in the history of the US since 1671.

Secondly I am a parent. I don’t advocate idiot stuff like pulling Harry Potter out of schools or any of that crap because it’s just crap, but I invest time in my children and it is them that drive me to succeed in my post-military life. My older son has a mild case of Asperger’s Syndrome and over the past year I have become quite an educated resource on the subject.

Beyond that, I’m a lot of things. It’s better if you ask me because I don’t want to get into all of them right now; but I’m a pretty good golfer and an absolute video game freak.

***original content*** I wanted to take this down but I figure if this page is longer fewer people will read it to the end so why ruin 30 good lines of fake HTML if I don’t have to?

    No mention of a sister?

  7. Patrick Says:

@cbih: is that some kind of sick joke or do I know you? Yes I have a half-sister but I have not seen her for more than 10 years; only someone I grew up with or someone very close to me could possibly know that. If you know me or know where I can find her then email me.

  8. cbih2 Says:

Wasn’t meant as a sick joke - more as an attempt to say hi. You have a beautiful family and I have enjoyed reading about your life over the past years. I have also enjoyed seeing just how much we still have in common. I told Daddy to forward my address if you wrote to him. Don’t want to leave my email as a post.
